How to Play Zapplin Time! The Roaring Twenties
This section will teach you everything you need to know to play Zapplin Time! The Roaring Twenties, including general tips and tricks.
- Click on the World Map to select a destination. You can unlock new Zapplin Time! locations and hidden object scenes by completing Hidden Object levels. Completing Jigsaw Puzzles and Sliding Puzzles also counts!
- After choosing a location on the world map, pick a Game Mode using the buttons on the right. Additional game modes can be unlocked once you’ve earned enough coins!
- Find all the Hidden Objects listed at the bottom of the screen before time runs out! For Puzzles, complete the puzzle before time’s up.

The Timer shows how much time is remaining. The faster you complete a level, the more Coins you’ll earn! To learn more about coins and how to use them, check out the Zapplin Time! Bonus Features section.
Use the Hint button to reveal the location of a Hidden Object that’s hard to find. Hints take time to recharge between uses.

- Earn Combos by finding multiple hidden objects consecutively within a short period of time. But be careful – if you click too quickly or too many times without finding an object, the cursor will temporarily Freeze!
- In Night Mode, find Batteries and use them to briefly increase your visibility, making it easier to find hidden objects!
Zapplin Time! The Roaring Twenties – Bonus Features
Zapplin Time! The Roaring Twenties features several unlockable bonus features – including new game modes, character outfits, and more!
Coins you earn from completing levels can be used to unlock these bonuses. The higher the difficulty, and the faster you complete a level, the more coins you’ll earn to spend on unlockable extras.
You can Customize character outfits, the Zapplin interior, and the exterior of the airship by clicking the button in the upper right corner while aboard the airship. Complete new locations to unlock unique items and outfits!

⫸ How do I turn off the timer?
The Timer can be turned off by changing the difficulty of Zapplin Time! The Roaring Twenties.
To change the game’s difficulty, select the Options button in the game’s main menu, or click the Pause Menu button while playing a Hidden Object level, then select Options.
Under Choose a Difficulty, select Easy to disable the timer.
⫸ How do I turn off character dialogue popups?
There are two ways to disable character speech bubbles:
If you want to Skip the character dialogue, press the ESC button on your keyboard to skip the dialogue for that scene. The ESC button can be used to skip dialogue at any time.
If you want to Disable characters talking, select the Options button in the Zapplin Time! main menu, or click the Pause Menu button while playing a level, then select Options.
Under Dialogue, uncheck the box to disable character speech bubbles.
To turn the Zapplin Time! character dialogue back on, simply check the box beside Dialogue in the Options menu.
⫸ How do I unlock new game modes?
Game Modes can be unlocked by spending Coins.
As you complete Hidden Object or Puzzle levels, you’ll earn coins. The higher the difficulty level you play, the more coins you’ll earn!
Try earning Combos by finding multiple items in quick succession. You’ll also earn bonuses for completing a level before the timer runs out.
Game Modes that are unlocked using coins will automatically be unlocked for all map locations.
⫸ How do I customize the Zapplin airship?
You can Customize the Zapplin interior and exterior using Coins.
Click the Customization button in the upper right corner while aboard the Zapplin airship to access the customization menu.
Click the Interior icon on the lower right to customize the Zapplin’s furniture, windows, and color scheme.
Click the Exterior icon on the lower right to customize the Zapplin’s exterior skin and appearance. Any changes you make here will also appear in the game’s Main Menu!
⫸ How do I unlock new character outfits?
You can Customize character outfits and costumes using Coins.
Click the Customization button in the upper right corner while aboard the Zapplin airship to access the customization menu. Here, you can select Amelia, Charlie, Paul, Ruby, or Maxine and change their appearance and accessories.
Some outfits can only be unlocked after completing a location. To unlock these outfits, play the location listed in the lower right corner in any game mode. Once completed, you’ll be given the option to Purchase the outfit using coins.
Any changes you make to characters’ clothing will be visible aboard the Zapplin, as well as in-game levels and dialogue windows.
⫸ How do I change the game’s difficulty?
To change the difficulty of Zapplin Time! The Roaring Twenties, select the Options button in the game’s main menu, or click the Pause Menu button while playing a Hidden Object level; then select Options.
There are three difficulty modes:
- EASY – Relax and enjoy the sights without time limits! No bonuses are available in this mode. Timer duration: Unlimited.
- MEDIUM – Enjoy a moderate challenge. Bonuses are awarded for completing levels quickly. Timer duration: 3 minutes.
- HARD – For seasoned world travelers! Levels must be completed within a time limit. Bonuses awarded are worth more. Timer duration: 2 minutes.
Under Choose a Difficulty, select Easy to disable the timer.
