Fabulous – New York to LA General Tips & Tricks
Learn everything you need to know about being a Fabulous fashion designer in the General Tips and Tricks section! In this section of our strategy guide you’ll learn how to play, how scoring works, and will receive an introduction to the game’s many features. Keep scrolling to learn some bonus tips and tricks!
How to Play
Fabulous – New York to LA is a GameHouse Original Stories exclusive Time Management game. The goal of the game is to serve as many customers as you can within a limited amount of time. The better your service is, the higher your score will be! How to play can be broken down into seven easy steps:
- Pick Up Products
When customers order, an order bubble will pop up over their head displaying the product they’d like. Tap the product in the shop to add it to your tray.
- Deliver Products
Once a product is on your tray, tap on the customer who made the order to serve the product to them.
- Checkout
When customers are ready to pay, they’ll move to the cash register. Tap the register to check out customers and receive a final score based on your service.
- Special Services
Sometimes customers will ask Angela for assistance. An icon showing Angela’s face will appear in their order bubble. Tap on the customer to have Angela assist them.
- Restock & Create
Some products can be created from a design. Tap a design to create the product.
- Combination Orders
Occasionally you will serve a product made up of multiple parts. Working from left to right, tap on the components you need to create the product.
- Cleaning
Fitting rooms will need to be cleaned after use. A “!” bubble indicates a fitting room needs cleaning. Tap the fitting room to clean it so the next customer can use it.
Scoring and Customer Happiness
Customer Happiness
Happy customers are the key to high scores. The happier a customer is, the higher the score they’ll give you when they check out. Ecstatic customers will have big smiles and give the highest scores. However, customers who become angry will be at risk of leaving and won’t give any score. Serve complete orders quickly to boost a customer’s mood – and the potential to earn high scores!
Scoring & Bonuses
Points are awarded based on your service. In addition to points awarded for customer happiness, a variety of Bonuses may also boost your score. Bonus types include:
- Checkout Combos – Check out multiple customers at the register at once.
- Fabulous! Combo – Check out 5 or more customers at the register at once.
- Cleaning Combos – Clean multiple stations back-to-back.
- Smart Combos – Give multiple customers all the items they ask for in a single trip, back-to-back.
- Full Order Bonus – Bring all the items a customer asks for in a single trip.
- Quick Bonus – Deliver all the products a customer asks for within a handful of seconds of them ordering.
- Minigame Quick Bonus – Complete a minigame within a few seconds of it starting.
- Spotless Bonus – Have all stations clean at the end of the level.
Hidden Mice Locations
GameHouse Original Stories icon Carl the Mouse returns in Fabulous – New York to LA! A mouse is hidden in each of the game’s Story, Reward, and Bonus Levels. Listen for the tell-tale squeak and tap on Carl before he disappears! For a list of all mice locations in the game, check out the Mouse Locations section.
Products and Store Upgrades
As you play Fabulous – New York to LA, you’ll unlock additional upgrades to boost your gameplay! Upgrade types are as follows:
Store Upgrades
New store upgrades will unlock after completing certain levels. As you play, certain upgrades will be recommended per level. It’s highly suggested you use the recommended upgrades in order to earn the highest scores possible for that level! Tap the green cart icon to purchase an upgrade.
Product Upgrades
By completing levels, you’ll also be able to unlock new product upgrades. Recommended products are recommended per level based on their ability to help you earn the highest score possible. We recommend you try them out!
Additionally, sometimes you’ll be able to customize your products. Simply tap the variation you’d like to use. Not all products are upgradeable, but some are still customizable. Customized products are cosmetic and will not affect your gameplay.
Special Features
Fabulous – New York to LA has some new special features! Below is a list of unique features and gameplay elements:
Next Customer Button
Why wait for the next customer? Tap the Next Customer Button to call the next customer into the shop! The more you use the button, the more green will be added to the shift clock. This green area represents the amount of time you saved and will award extra points at the end of the level.
Endless Levels
Endless Levels can be found at the bottom of the level select map. Tap the spin button to generate a unique new endless level once every 24 hours. Compete for high scores and earn bonus diamonds!
Daily Challenges
New Daily Challenges will generate every day. Tap the notepad icon on the right side of the level select map to view a list of daily challenges. Complete these challenges to earn special bonuses and rewards. You can refresh challenges by tapping the pink Refresh icon in the upper right corner.
Boosters
Boosters will give you a special boost while playing. They can be selected at the start of a level. Boosters can be viewed by tapping the Lightning icon in the level select map. Use diamonds earned from completing level objectives to purchase boosters! Booster types are as follows:
- Fast Walk – Angela’s walking speed increases, making it easier to serve multiple customers at the same time.
- Double Score – Every point earned is doubled, making it easer to earn more stars.
- Time Halt – The clock will stop, but customers will keep coming in. This helps provide more time to serve customers and prevent them from leaving angry.
- Instant Clean – Stations will be instantly cleaned just by tapping on them. This helps to shorten station waiting queues.
- Full Restock – Every product will fully restock on its own. This helps save time on restocking when multiple orders are present.
- Mood Lock – Customers have infinite patience. This helps prevent customers from leaving angry.
- Mood Boost – Customers’ moods will automatically improve. This helps increase the number of points awarded when checking out customers.
- Fast Clean – Stations take less time to clean. This helps shorten waiting queues for stations.
- Extra Tray Spot – Angela gains an extra tray spot. This increases the ability to serve multiple customers at the same time.
Angela Upgrades & Abilities
As you play Fabulous – New York to LA, you’ll earn Experience Points (EXP). EXP will be added to Angela’s experience bar in the level select map. If she earns enough, she’ll level up and receive an Upgrade Point. EXP can be earned by completing story and bonus levels, purchasing upgrades, finding mice, earning trophies, and more!
Tap on Angela in the upper right corner of the level select map to view her Abilities. Use upgrade points to level up abilities and give Angela’s gameplay a boost!
Additional Tips and Tricks
You’re ready to play Fabulous – New York to LA! Here are a few extra tips and tricks to help your gameplay go from fun to fabulous!
- Restock Products – Restock any limited-availability items at the very start of your shift to give yourself a boost!
- Clean Stations – Don’t forget to clean your stations and fitting rooms! Not only will your customers be happier, but you’ll receive a bonus at the end of the day for having a clean shop.
- Find the Mouse – Carl the mouse is hidden in all levels excluding Tailor Levels. Find the mouse to earn a score boost!
- Bonus Points – Earn bonus points by serving complete orders, serving customers quickly, or checking out multiple customers at once. There are multiple ways to earn bonus points and boost your score!
- Recommended Upgrades – Recommended upgrades will help you earn higher scores. Without using the recommended upgrade, you may find it difficult – or even impossible – to earn all 5 stars on a level. Upgrades will often be recommended per level. Go get those high scores!
- Rewards – Earn rewards by completing Reward Levels, Daily Challenges, and earning trophies!
- Coins & Diamonds – Earn coins by completing levels and earning stars or completing Daily Challenges. Diamonds can be earned by completing level objectives or completing Daily Challenges. Use coins and diamonds to purchase boosters and upgrades!
- Boosters – Do you find yourself wishing you had just a little more time or speed? Use boosters to give your gameplay an edge!
- Upgrades – Purchase upgrades to improve your store and products!
- Make Angela FABULOUS! – Don’t forget to upgrade Angela’s abilities! EXP will be converted into upgrade points you can spend to take Angela to the next level.

Fabulous – New York to LA features several short micro-challenges known as minigames. Below is a list of all minigames in Fabulous – New York to LA.
Types of Minigames
- Slider – Tap or click the slider and drag it in the direction shown by the arrow.
- Double Slider – Tap or click the slider and drag it in the direction shown by the arrow. Then, drag it back again.
- Buttons – Tap or click the buttons in the same order as the numbers shown.
- Slider & Button Combination – Tap or click the slider and drag it in the direction shown by the arrow. Then, tap or click the buttons in the same order as the numbers shown.
- Hold – Tap or click and hold the button until the circle is filled.
- Circle – Drag the button clockwise in a circle alongside the line shown.
- Rub – Rub your finger or cursor in the area shown to fill the circle.
- Drag & Drop – Drag and drop the object into the marked area.
- Range – Tap or click the button when the pointer is in the green area.
Sew the Dress
Minigame Type: Slider
Tap or click a dress to restock in any chapter. Slide up to complete the dress.
Measure the Foot
Minigame Type: Double Slider
Measure the length and width of a customer’s foot. This minigame appears in Chapter 1.
Fasten the Belt
Minigame Type: Slider
Fasten the belt onto the dress. This minigame appears in Chapter 1.
Pin the Sleeves
Minigame Type: Slider & Button Combination
Slide up the sleeves using the slider. Tap the two spots that appear to apply the pins. This minigame appears in Chapter 1.
Button the Dress
Minigame Type: Drag & Drop
Button up the dress. Drag dedicated spots on the dress to the adjacent buttons to button it up. This minigame appears in Chapter 2.
Decorate the Necklace
Minigame Type: Buttons
Tap the numbered buttons as they appear one after the other. A new pendant will appear with each tapped button. This minigame appears in Chapter 2.
Tie the Blouse
Minigame Type: Circular, Slider
Tie the blouse onto the customer using two gestures. First, complete the circular gesture to connect the elements. Second, swipe down to tie the ribbon. This minigame appears in Chapter 2.
Attach the Watch
Minigame Type: Double Slider
Drag the slider in the first direction shown to attach the first strap to the clock. Then drag the slider back in the opposite direction to attach the second strap. This minigame appears in Chapter 3.
Shorten the Skirt
Minigame Type: Hold, Buttons
Shorten the skirt of the dress. Tap and hold the yellow button to roll up the dress. Next, three buttons will appear. Tap the buttons in the order shown to pin the dress. This minigame appears in Chapter 3.
Lace the Heels
Minigame Type: Buttons, Range
Tap the two buttons shown to lace up the heel. Next, a meter will appear. Tap or click when the indicator lands in the green zone to complete the bow. This minigame appears in Chapter 3.
Place the Pom Poms
Minigame Type: Drag & Drop
Drag the pom poms to the dotted circle outline shown and release. Dropping a pom pom in the incorrect location will return it to the starting position. Attach both pom poms to complete the minigame. This minigame appears in Chapter 4.
Add Lace to the Skirt
Minigame Type: Hold
Tap and hold the yellow button to fill the meter. Lace will be added as the bar is filled. This minigame appears in Chapter 4.
Tie the Robe
Minigame Type: Slider, Circle
Drag the slider in the direction shown by the arrow. Then, complete the circular gesture shown to tie the knot. This minigame appears in Chapter 4.
Apply Makeup
Minigame Type: Rub
Rub the area indicated by the circles to apply blush to the model’s cheeks. This minigame appears in Chapter 5.
Assemble the Dress
Minigame Type: Buttons
Tap the buttons in the order they appear to assemble the dress. This minigame appears in Chapter 5.
Measure the Model
Minigame Type: Slider
Drag the slider in the direction indicated by the arrow to measure the model. This minigame appears in Chapter 5.
Hinge the Necklace
Minigame Type: Circle
Tap and drag the button around in a circular motion to hinge the necklace. This minigame appears in Chapter 6.
Button the Sleeve
Minigame Type: Buttons
Tap the buttons in the order they appear to button the sleeve. This minigame appears in Chapter 6.
Trim the Dress
Minigame Type: Slider, Buttons
Drag the slider in the direction indicated to create a fabric seam. Then, tap the buttons in the order they appear to pin the dress. This minigame appears in Chapter 6.
