Start your cruise off right with The Love Boat – Second Chances tips and tricks. Learn how to play, how to earn the highest scores, and some secret tips to guarantee your journey is smooth sailing.
How to Play
The Love Boat – Second Chances is a time management game. The goal of the game is to assist as many passengers as possible within a limited period of time. The happier passengers are, the higher your score will be!
Passengers will enter an area asking for assistance. They may require an item, a service, or a combination thereof. A bubble will appear over passengers’ heads indicating what they need. Sometimes a color will appear inside the bubble once a passenger makes a request. Assist the passenger before the color drains from the bubble completely to earn bonus points for quick service.
Once a passenger is ready to check out, they’ll move to the register or checkout tablet. The checkout varies according to level. Some levels have checkout screens. Some levels will have you send passengers out via an elevator. Once passengers are checked out, you’ll receive a final score for your service, which will be added to your overall score for the day. Try to earn a high enough score before time runs out!

Click and hold any portion of the level select map, swiping left or right to move between level select screens. Click on a numbered buoy to select the level you’d like to play and view a short description.

Scoring and Customer Happiness
Each passenger will enter an area with a floating heart. This heart indicates how happy the passenger is. The faster you assist a passenger or give them what they need, the happier they’ll be. Hearts are converted into scores once the passenger is checked out.
Passengers will become unhappy if you take too long. As a heart depletes, the passenger will become upset. Angry passengers will have their hearts turn into storm clouds. Assist them quickly, or else they’ll storm off!
The happiest customers will have a gold heart. These passengers have infinite patience at checkout and give the highest scores once they leave. Assist passengers quickly and bring them everything they ask to earn these golden hearts.
Earn bonus points by checking out passengers in groups. Up to 4 passengers can be checked out at the same time. Passengers will gold hearts will wait as long as you like, but customers without will gradually lose patience. Try not to keep them waiting too long!
Mice Locations
Carl the mouse has returned in style! A mouse is hidden in each of the game’s 60 story levels. Find the mouse to earn a score bonus. Click “Show Mouse Locations” under any level to view the possible places mice may appear during that level. For a complete list of all mouse locations, visit the Mouse Locations section.
Additional Tips and Tricks
- Next, Please! – Click the yellow Next Passenger button in the upper left corner to speed up passenger arrivals.
- Time to Restock! – Some items are available in limited quantity and need to be restocked. Restock items at the start of the day to give yourself an immediate advantage.
- My Heart is Gold for You – Serve customers complete orders quickly to improve their mood. Customers with gold hearts are the happiest they can possibly be. These golden customers will wait at the register for an infinite amount of time and give the highest scores once checked out.
- Finished? Just Checking! – Several minigames will require you to click a checkmark button after finishing the minigame to complete it. Don’t forget to check off your work!
- We’re Stronger as a Team! – Feeling stuck on a level? Try replaying the level with a different crew member. Each crew member has their own special abilities.
- Table for Two, Please! – Customers will often walk in alone and only require one seat at a table. Don’t be shy to sit two strangers together to make the most of the space!
- Eek, a Mouse! – Carl the mouse is hidden in each of the game’s 60 story levels. Keep a sharp eye out for his whiskers and listen for the telltale squeak!
- The Diamond Standard – Complete level bonus challenges and goals to earn diamonds. You can use diamonds to upgrade your crew members and their special abilities.
- Would You Like an Upgrade? – Buy upgrades after selecting a level. Upgrades will allow you to unlock special abilities and extras that will help boost your gameplay and score. Your score will be converted into coins to spend on upgrades once you finish a level.
- How About a Promotion? – Promote crew members to level up their abilities! Each crew member possesses a unique ability to boost your gameplay.

Adjust the Jacuzzi
Help customers relax in the hot tub. Adjust the water temperature by clicking and moving the dials up or down until the customer is happy. The customer will go from angry to pensive once the first dial is moved correctly. The customer will then go from pensive to happy once the second dial is correct. Click the check mark once the customer appears happy to complete the minigame.

Adjust the Lounge Chair
Help passengers get comfortable in the lounge chair. Click on the adjustment dial, moving it until the customer is happy. You may need to click and rotate multiple times. Click the checkmark button in the lower right corner to complete the minigame once the passenger is happy.

Adjust the Umbrella
Provide shade for the passengers by adjusting the umbrella. Click the adjustment piece on the umbrella pole, moving it up or down until the passenger is happy. Click on the check button to complete the minigame.

Soothe the Bites
The bugs are biting! Click on bug bites to rub gel or ointment on the bites until they disappear. You only need to click each bug bite once.

Use the Stethoscope
Sometimes passengers require a checkup. Move the stethoscope to the dotted outlines to listen for problems. Click inside the circle to perform a check. The minigame will end once you’ve checked each area successfully.

Menu Selection
Find the meals in the cookbook matching the images on the right by clicking and turning the pages. Click on matching food items until every food item has been selected.

Fix the Soup
Add the correct ingredients by selecting from the tray on the left. Use the image on the right as reference to find the correct mixture. Click and hold ingredients from the left and drag them into the soup. The soup will be automatically added to your inventory once it’s correctly made.

Drinks Machine
Deliver the requested drink according to the image shown. Click on the drink machine to create the correct mix. Select the mix to pour it into the glass, then click and hold the glass to move it to the right end of the machine. Click on the ice button to finish preparing the drink.

Clean the Table
Clear the glasses from the table before the next passenger arrives. Click and hold dirty glasses on the table and move them to the tray to be cleared away. Then, click and hold, moving the cursor back and forth over the dirty table to wipe it down.

Acapulco Minigames
Mexican Grill
Serve up the passengers’ choice of beef or chicken tacos. Using the image shown, recreate the perfect taco by selecting and cooking the correct components. Choose the correct meat for the interior of the taco, shown in the upper right corner, and click and hold it to drag it into the skillet. Once the meat has been added to the skillet, click and hold the skillet, moving it back and forth quickly over the grill to cook the meat. Once the meat has been cooked, click and add it to the interior of the taco shell to complete preparation. You may then serve the taco to the hungry customer.

Photo-Op Memento
Help passengers create the perfect reminder of their dream vacation. Line up the passenger in the middle of the camera using the slider bar below the green box. Once the customer is aligned and happy, click on the checkmark button at the top of the camera to snap a photo.
